Maha Haj

Maha HAJ (1970, Israel) is a Palestinian filmmaker and screenwriter. She started life as a teacher before moving into film as a set designer and art director on titles such as The Time That Remains (2009). Haj wrote and directed the short film Oranges (2009) and the documentary Behind These Walls (2010). Her first feature film Personal Affairs, was nominated for Cannes Film Festival’s Un Certain Regard official selection in 2016 and won numerous awards, including Haifa Film Festival’s Best Feature and a Special Mention for International Feature Film at Zurich Film Festival.
