Mónica Lima
Still: Natureza HumanaMónica LIMA (Portugal) studied Visual Arts in Lisbon, and Writing and Directing in Prague (FAMU) and Berlin (DFFB). Lima studied alongside writers and directors Valeska Grisebach, Fred Kelemen and Franz Rodenkirchen. She has worked as a scriptwriter and assistant director for advertising and film. She says she is fascinated by “characters stuck in existential limbo and the quest for meaning in contemporary life”. With her latest film Natureza Humana (2023), selected for IFFR 2023, she said she hoped to capture the contradictions and anxieties of our times through the prism of a disconnected couple.
