Li Ying
Film maker LI Ying (1963, China) works and lives in Japan. He studied Chinese Literature at Zhongshan University. In 1989, he went to Japan to study Japanese cinema under director Nagasa Oshima (Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, 1983). In 1993, he co-founded the production company Dragon Films Inc. His first production 2H (1999) won a NETPAC award in Berlin. His documentary Yasukuni (2007), about the history of the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo, was screened and awarded worldwide.
