Jung Sung-il

JUNG Sung-il (1959, South Korea) is a famous film critic in his country. Jung has worked for various film festivals where he introduced well-known foreign films to the Korean audience and vice versa. He also worked as an adjunct professor at the Korean Film Academy and the Korea National University of Arts. Café noir (2009) was his directorial debut and was screened at film festivals throughout the world, including Rotterdam, Venice and Los Angeles. With the documentary Night and Fog in Zona (2015), about Korean filmmaker Wang Bing, he continues to build on his work as a film theorist.
