Julian Schnabel
Julian Schnabel (1951, Brooklyn, New York) studied at the University of Houston. He is painter and sculptor. Since his first solo exhibition in 1979 in the Mary Boone Gallery in New York he has grown to become one of the most famous of contemporary artists, whose work has been bought by e.g. the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris and the Tate Gallery in London. Basquiat was his first feature.
