Still: Quo vadis, Aida?
Jasmila ŽBANIĆ (1974, Bosnia and Herzegovina) graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo. She founded the artist association and production company Deblokada in 1997, together with Damir Ibrahimovic. After releasing several short films, she made her feature film debut, Grbavica (2006), which was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale. Her second feature, On the Path (2010), premiered at the Berlinale, where it was also nominated for the Golden Bear. Quo vadis, Aida? (2020) was nominated for the Golden Lion in Venice. Žbanić’s work deals with the Yugoslav Wars and their destructive emotional and political legacy.
