Jan LOUTER (1954, Netherlands) is a documentary filmmaker who has made over 35 documentaries for both cinema and television. All were broadcasted on Dutch public television and most of them have had screenings at film festivals in Europe, USA, China and Australia. He has garnered several awards for Best Documentary and two Special Jury Mentions at AIF in Los Angeles. In his films – which are both visual and conceptual – imagination plays an important role. Louter has frequently portrayed writers and artists, as well as addressed social issues.
