Hong Sangsoo

HONG Sangsoo (1960, South Korea) studied at the University of Seoul and attended film courses in Los Angeles, Chicago and Paris. Since returning to South Korea, he has directed more than 10 feature films. His feature debut The Day a Pig Fell Into the Well won him a Tiger Award at IFFR in 1997. Right Now, Wrong Then (2015) won him the Golden Leopard prize at the 2015 Locarno International Film Festival. Hong's films are characterized by unique cinematography and seemingly spontaneous circumstances that create clever story lines.
