Hermine Freed

Hermine FREED (1940-1988, USA) studied painting at New York University. In the 1960s she started to use video in order to document other painters and in 1972 began to experiment with the medium to question gender conventions and women's self-perception. During the same period she also taught at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
