Gaston J.M. Kaboré

Gaston J.M. Kaboré (1951, Burkina Faso), one of the greatest of African film-makers, studied film at the Esec in Paris and history at the Sorbonne. After his first feature, Wend Kuuni (1982), he divided his time between making films and encouraging African cinema; for instance, from 1977 to 1988 he was director of the National Film Centre in Burkina Faso.
