Edwin Baily

Edwin Baily (1953, Calais) grew up in the area that he portrays in his feature début Faut-il Aimer Mathilde? When he was 18, he left the north and went to work as assistant cameraman. He worked with e.g. Désiré Ecaré, Bertrand van Effenterre, Souleymane Cissé and Chantal Akerman. In 1980 heformed the company Square Productions which has so far made about thirty dramas and documentaries.
