Dmytro SUKHOLYTKYY-SOBCHUK (1983, Ukraine) is an author and filmmaker. He graduated from Kyiv National Karpenko-Karyy University of Theatre, Cinema and Television in 2013, specialising in feature film direction. He has also been a participant of Berlinale Talents and the Locarno Film Academy. His films have screened at festivals around the world and won multiple awards, including the Grand Jury Prize for European Films at Angers European First Film Festival for Weightlifter (2018). His first feature film Pamfir (2022), selected for IFFR 2023, was supported by TorinoFilmLab, MIDPOINT and Cannes’ Cinéfondation. It won a slew of awards including Best Director and Discovery of the Year at the Ukrainian Film Critics Awards, and was nominated for the People's Choice Award at Melbourne International Film Festival.
