Daniel Schmidt

Award-winning filmmaker Daniel SCHMIDT (1984, USA) took courses at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York and studied at Yale University. He worked in a variety of industries, including music production, before shifting his focus to film. His short film A History of Mutual Respect (co-directed with Gabriel Abrantes) was nominated for a Tiger Award at IFFR 2011. Diamantino (2018, also co-directed with Schmidt) won the Palm Dog Jury Prize as well as the Critics' Week Grand Prize in Cannes, among others.
