Still: lessons on flight
The work of Chilean-Canadian filmmaker Cecilia ARANEDA (1970, Chile) is best described as a play of experimental, documentary and fiction forms. She grew up in Canada, after her family escaped Chile’s military dictatorship when she was a child. She then studied at York University and the University of British Colombia. Araneda’s short films, including What Comes Between (2009) and The Space Shuttle Challenger (2017), as well as her debut feature film Intersection (2022), have been screened internationally at film festivals and art museums. Her latest short film lessons on flight (2024) is selected for IFFR 2024.
