Atsushi Kimura

Atsushi Kimura was born in 1959 in Kyoto. As a student at Shinshu University, his film Wee Relations was screened at the Pia Film Festival, an important Japanese film festival for independent film-makers. In 1983 he started working for the national Japanese television NHK and made documentaries and drama series, including the highly-praised television drama Nekono-Mania. This series led to the opportunity to make his feature-film debut with Aitsu.
