Atiq Rahimi

After fleeing his homeland, writer and filmmaker Atiq RAHIMI (b. 1962, Kabul, Afghanistan) studied at the Sorbonne in Paris. Since 2002, he has worked as a television maker in Afghanistan. In 2003, his first book, Khâkestar-o-khâk, appeared, which he filmed himself. His latest film, The Patience Stone, is based on his own book, which won the prestigious French Prix Goncourt in 2008.
