Athina Rachel Tsangari

Athina Rachel TSANGARI (1966, Greece) studied Literature in Thessaloniki, Performing Arts in New York and Ethnographic Film in Austin, Texas. She played minor roles in Richard Linklater's Slacker (1991) and Before Midnight (2013) and was founder and artistic director of the Cinematexas International Film Festival. As a producer she was involved with Yorgos Lanthimos' films Kinetta (2005) and Dogtooth (2009). Tsangari's international breakthrough as a director came with her second film Attenberg in 2010.
