Ammar Al- Beik

Ammar AL-BEIK (1972, Damascus, Syria) is a pigeon breeder, football player, conceptual artist and filmmaker. He studied Business Administration at the University of Damascus, but discovered his love for photography, and later film, whille working at a camera repair shop. Since then his films have been screened all over the world. His invitation to the 63rd Venice Film Festival in 2006 with I Am the One Who Brings Flowers to Her Grave, was the first in the history of Syrian cinema. Al-Beik has continued to work in photography despite the success he has found in cinema.
