Alejandro Telemaco Tarraf

Alejandro Telémaco TARRAF (Argentina, 1984) studied Image and Sound Design at the University of Buenos Aires and Cinematography at SICA, Argentina. He has worked in the audiovisual field as a director, screenwriter, and cinematographer, and his work has been shown at international film festivals such as Rotterdam, FICUNAM, AFI Fest, Taipei Golden Horse, ICA Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, BAFICI, among others.

His debut feature film as a director,Piedra Sola, a co-production with Mexico, UK, and Qatar, premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam in 2020 as part of the official Tiger Competition. It went on to screen at more than 40 international festivals, winning awards at the Zerkalo Andrei Tarkovsky IFF in Russia (Professional Achievement Award), SEMINCI in Spain (Special Jury Mention), FICMY in Mexico (Special Jury Mention), RIFF Reykjavik in Iceland (Special Mention), KIFF Kerala in India (Best Debut Film), Doclisboa in Portugal (Best Film - Practice, Tradition and Heritage Award) and Mostra Ecofalante in Brazil (Best Film). Piedra Sola has also had a commercial release in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria.

Alejandro T. Tarraf is currently living in Galicia, Spain, and working on his second feature film, Alumbre, as a writer and director. The project is presented at CineMart 2024.
