Agnieszka Holland
Still: Green BorderAgnieszka HOLLAND (1948, Poland) studied at the film school in Prague. From 1972 to 1981, she was a member of a collective led by Andrzej Wajda. Since her debut with Provincial Actors in 1979, which won a prize in Cannes, the Polish filmmaker has built up an enormous international oeuvre. She has also continued to film ‘Polish’ historic themes. In the course of her career she has won several prizes for her films and series, including an Oscar nomination for Europe Europe (1990). In 2017, she received the Silver Bear for Spoor (2017). three years later she was elected president of the European Film Academy. Green Border (2023), selected for IFFR 2024, won the Special Jury Prize at the Venice International Film Festival.
