In a dynamic talkshow setting international artists will talk about how they navigate the cultural divide. On stage: Charles Burnett (director of the influential Killer of Sheep and The Glass Shield, and key member of the L.A. Rebellion film movement) and Ernest Dickerson (director of Double Play and Spike Lee’s former Director of Photography), Kevin Jerome Everson, director of Improvement Association, Yolonda Ross (Afronauts and Mansfield 66/67, actress, writer and director) all from the USA. From the UK we welcome June Givanni (former head of BFI’s African Unit and influential keeper of Black Filmhistory) and artist Keith Piper (Robot Bodies). Upcoming filmtalent Yasmin Thaynà from Brazil talks about her impressive film on black hair: KBELA. Lamin Daniel Jadama (director of Fonko), Artist Tirzo Martha (Testament of Hope and Failure) will talk about how his works comment on political and social issues in the Caribbean, while Patricia Pisters from the Netherlands (professor of film at Dept of Media Studies UvA) sheds light on DJ Spooky’s daring visual remix Rebirth of a Nation. 
Musical entertainment + poetry is provided by UnorthaDOX (Kyteman’s Orchestra) with guests musicians Bruno Ferro Xavier da Silva (bass) Alessandro Russo (saxophone), Yannick Hiwat (violin) dancer Remses Rafaëlla and by DJ Eni-less. Spoken word: Naomi Veldwijk and Izzy Wu Ra.
“A programme so long, you could have gotten your hair done…” So you can! Hairdressers Stacey Davis (locks by Kayah, dreadlockspecialist) and Princey Martina (#Pjsnatchedthat!, wig making and weave)  are present to do your hair.
