The second edition of LV♥IFFR Encore is a special one, because we’re showing not one, but two films that recently screened at Cannes Film Festival: Santiago Loza’s HBF-supported film Brief Story from the Green Planet and Jim Jarmusch’s zombie comedy The Dead Don’t Die.

The two screenings take place on the same day at 19:00 and 21:00 hours. Want to see both films? Buy a combo ticket for a reduced price of €15. Tickets for only one of the two films are available for the normal price.

19:00 hours – Brief Story from the Green Planet
Argentinian filmmaker Santiago Loza’s Brief Story from the Green Planet screened in the ACID programme at Cannes and was supported by IFFR’s Hubert Bals Fund. The film follows a trans woman named Tania who mourns her deceased grandmother. When she finds out her grandmother was taking care of an extraterrestrial creature, Tania sets out to return it to where it came from together with her two best friends. A melancholic, mysterious and playful story.

21:00 uur – The Dead Don’t Die
The Dead Don’t Die is Jim Jarmusch’s star-studded zombie comedy featuring Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Selena Gomez, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Tilda Swinton, Tom Waits and Danny Glove, among others. Jarmusch combines bloody spectacle and iPhone-wielding zombies to create an eccentric and absurd account of the collapse of society.
