You don’t just watch IFFR-films at the festival in Rotterdam, but also far beyond. TU Delft and IFFR join forces for a screening of Capharnaüm on Thursday 9 January.
After a long day at the campus, we invite you to watch the audience favourite of IFFR 2019 together with friends, colleagues and fellow students. We’ll take care of drinks and popcorn before the film, that will be screened in the Theatre Hall of X – the place on the campus of TU Delft where you can develop in areas that are not always part of the academic curriculum, but invaluable none the less.
Capharnaüm by Nadine Labaki
About the film
Twelve-year-old Zain is growing up without any hopes for the future in a crowded, dilapidated apartment in Beirut. After running away from home following a crisis, he finds shelter with an ‘illegal’ Ethiopian who takes him on to look after her baby. An energetic, poignant portrait of the expanding ‘precariat’ in this Lebanese metropolis.
