IFFR Young Selectors are back, this time collaborating with The Student Hotel to bring you the best films for youngsters, by youngsters.

As a throwback to the amazing 48th International Film Festival Rotterdam - IFFR, the IFFR Young Selectors will share one of their favourite films of this year’s edition: Genèse by Philippe Lesage.

Genèse screened at IFFR as part of the Voices programme, and later screened at a few more film festivals. It has not yet gotten picked up for international distribution in film theatres. That’s why you’ll be lucky to see this film exclusively and only at your local, cozy cinema room of The Student Hotel Rotterdam.

About Genèse
Some say youth is wasted on the young, but they obviously don’t know the teenagers from Genèse. Guillaume, Charlotte and Felix are all shaken up by their first loves in the turmoil of their youth. At a time when others are conforming, they stand their ground and assert their right to love and be free. They remain true to themselves, but not without problems. Philippe Lesage sketches how heartrendingly beautiful love can be, using a patient camera, gripping soundtrack and very charismatic protagonists.
