IFFR Young Network invite you to ‘Deconstructing Scenario’, part of Rotterdams Open Doek Filmfestival at LantarenVenster. Come by to watch and interactively analyse a short film in a masterclass with Iranian-Kurdish filmmaker Beri Shalmashi. You’ll get a hard copy of a screenplay, allowing you to take a closer look at process of the scriptwriter, and discuss it with the filmmaker herself!

With films such as Shouted from the Rooftops and Heart on Fire, Shalmashi’s acclaimed works touch upon themes of a sense of belonging and identity. She is currently working on adapting the bestselling novel The House and the Mosque by Kader Abdolah which entails the epic story of the Iranian Revolution. Her short films are internationally recognised and have won various awards, including the ECHO Award.

If you're interested in screenwriting, or want to meet and discuss pressing issues with like-minded, young and creative people, be sure to buy your tickets for this event!
