It\u2019s the country our Hubert Bals Fund has supported more than any other in its 35-year history. Many of Brazil\u2019s leading filmmakers \u2013 including Kleber Mendon\u00e7a Filho, Marcelo Gomes, Gabriel Mascaro and Julia De Simone \u2013 have benefitted from our support at key moments in their careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the HBF launches <a href=\"https:\/\/iffr.com\/en\/blog-hbf-brazil-co-development-support\">a new support scheme for Brazilian cinema together<\/a> with three leading public and private partners for the promotion of cinema in Brazil, we\u2019re looking back at some of the landmark films we\u2019ve supported in our recent history.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch the breakthrough work from household names like Kleber Mendon\u00e7a Filho (whose <strong>The Secret Agent<\/strong> won him best director at Cannes this year), Marcelo Gomes (<strong>Portrait of a Certain Orient<\/strong>, IFFR 2024 Big Screen Competition) and Gabriel Mascaro, who won the Silver Bear at the Berlinale 2025 for <strong>The Blue Trail<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How does it work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Each title is available on a pay-per-view basis: \u20ac6 for a feature and \u20ac2.50 for a short film. We offer a special Unleashed multi-ticket (<em>rittenkaart<\/em>) that grants access to either five feature films or five short films. The total cost of the multi-ticket is \u20ac25 for five feature films and \u20ac10 for five short films, reducing the price per film to \u20ac5 for feature films and \u20ac2 for short films. Any unused tickets can be used for future releases or other Unleashed titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All films are presented in their original language with English subtitles \u2013 <strong>Neon Bull <\/strong>additionally offers Dutch subtitles and <strong>Praia Formosa<\/strong> offers Portuguese subtitles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check the regional availability of the films below.
