International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) and V2_ Lab for the Unstable Media are excited to launch an open call for a hybrid residency from November 2024, culminating in an exhibition at V2_ during IFFR 2025. We invite applications from media artists interested in exploring film and from filmmakers eager to investigate media arts.<\/p>\n\n\n

This initiative is designed to encourage artists to step beyond their usual scope and challenge themselves to venture into new creative directions within the crossover between filmmaking and media arts. This is an opportunity to experiment, grow and be showcased at two leading institutions dedicated to fostering creativity and transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About V2_<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

V2_, Lab for the Unstable Media<\/a> is an interdisciplinary centre for art and media technology in Rotterdam that presents, produces, archives and publishes research at the interface of art, technology and society. V2_ creates a context in which issues regarding the social impact of technology are explored through critical dialogue, artistic reflection and practice-oriented research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About IFFR<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) is a leading cultural platform that champions compelling cinema and audiovisual art. Through IFFR\u2019s distinct programming, we open a space for ideas that captivate, engage and entertain, pushing creative boundaries that have the power to transform. IFFR supports independent storytellers and advances the impact of their work in the world. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

IFFR 2025 will take place from Thursday 30 January to Sunday 9 February 2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Project details<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A budget of \u20ac16,500 will be provided to cover fees including travel, accommodation, production and subsistence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019ll be working with IFFR and V2_ from early November 2024 till 9 February 2025. The residency takes place hybridly: partly from home (Nov \u2013 Dec) and partly on location (mid-Jan \u2013 9 Feb 2025).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s in it for you?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s a hybrid residency, where you\u2019ll have check-ins remotely throughout the months of November and December and will join us offline in Rotterdam for the month of January for a public tryout mid-January and build up towards the exhibition at V2_ during the 54th edition of IFFR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The exhibition will give you exposure to IFFR and V2_ visitors, and you’ll receive an IFFR Pro accreditation that allows industry access to the festival including various networking opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
