We support new and adventurous filmmaking talent, also beyond the screening room, through initiatives such as CineMart, the Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and other industry activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January each year, we bring together emerging and established filmmakers and artists from around the world to showcase a visionary programme of independent films, talks, exhibitions, performances, installations, immersive media and more. IFFR attracts over 300,000 visits to screenings and events annually. We also organise a range of film-related activities throughout the year, with our Filmclub and other collaborations with Rotterdam-based partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In January\/February 2027, we will celebrate the 56th edition of our 11-day festival, and we are looking for enthusiastic interns to join our Programme Operations team. This is your chance to gain hands-on experience at one of the largest festivals in the Netherlands!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the internship<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Programme Operations team supports the programme research phase and ensures the smooth delivery of IFFR\u2019s festival programme. We translate the programmers\u2019 creative ideas into a concrete festival schedule by managing submissions, maintaining contact with filmmakers and rights holders, inviting and confirming selected films, clearing screening rights, registering essential data for publications and coordinating film traffic. Programme Operations is the operational link between programming and execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As an intern, you\u2019ll support both the research and realisation of the IFFR 2027 film programme. You\u2019ll take ownership of a portfolio of selected titles and will be involved in the full journey of those films from confirmation to screening. You\u2019ll also assist with the daily operations of the team and gain insight into how a major international film festival is organised behind the scenes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\t<div 400;\">Gathering and entering film data for online and printed publications.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acting as a key contact for filmmakers and rights holders.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Coordinating film print traffic.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Supporting test screenings, troubleshooting and assisting filmmakers during the festival \u2013 plus, you\u2019ll get to communicator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re digitally savvy and comfortable learning new tools and systems quickly.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Basic knowledge of film formats or projection is a plus, but not required.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You\u2019re confident in communicating in English, both in speech and writing.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You have a student OV-chipcard or live in the Rotterdam area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are available to work at our office in the heart of Rotterdam and don\u2019t mind occasionally working irregular hours, especially in the run-up to and during the festival.
