Come to Rotterdam\u2019s Pauluskerk on\u00a0Thursday 1 October\u00a0for a special evening of film. We\u2019ll be screening\u00a0Porte Bagage<\/strong>, the feature film by Abdelkarim and Asma El-Fassi. The Pauluskerk is a place where Rotterdammers\u00a0can come together\u00a0and find support when they need\u00a0a helping hand. This evening is open to everyone, so come along and join us!<\/p>\n\n\n

About Porte Bagage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Noor (30) takes care of her headstrong father Musa (76), who suffers from dementia. When she is offered her dream job as a chef in Paris, she is faced with a choice between career and family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To make her brothers and sister understand the seriousness of their father’s condition, Noor arranges an appointment with a neurologist. After the death of a close friend, Musa expresses his wish to return to Morocco. Initially skeptical, Noor begins to see this as her way out \u2014 helping her father remigrate while finally pursuing her own dreams of independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite her brother Farid’s resistance, she manages to convince her brothers to join her on a road trip, where they face their past and their uncertain future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film is in Dutch and Arabic, with English subtitles.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
