Cinema Concerts are making a comeback after last year\u2019s hit events. This time Operator, Rotterdam\u2019s online radio station, will bring Loradeniz and Ngoni Egan to create fresh live scores for short films from International Film Festival Rotterdam\u2019s archive. <\/p>\n\n\n

The live soundtracks fill the garden, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The powerful and mesmerizing music leaves the audience impressed. Each performance is a blend of artistry and energy, making for a memorable evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ngoni Egan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Raised in Dublin and based in Holland, Ngoni Egan is a machine-wares producing DJ whose sound is up there with the very best of modern-day standards. Having transplanted to Rotterdam after running the gamut of Ireland\u2019s club-scape \u2013 frequenting Irish venues like The Bernard Shaw, Yamamori Tengu, Wigwam and Index \u2013 his DJ-and-live sets have seen him line up internationally alongside DJ Hell Helena Hauff, Privacy and DJ Stingray to landing bookings inside Glitch, Orbit, DGTL and Dekmantel Selectors festivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With standout club appearances at Herrensauna, Corsica Studios, De School, Nitsa and a phenomenal live debut at Berghain, Ngoni\u2019s sound is full of pace, bombastic and in-line with a historical Detroit lineage. With a smattering of music to be found across a clutch of Irish labels, it\u2019s his \u2018Re Teng\u2019 opus for United Identities that signals the producer\u2019s musical intentions and snappy flair for white hot, minimal and riffing electro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sequencing frenetic beats and deep sea grooves for the dancefloor \u2013 it\u2019s an industrial side to his sound that takes inspirations from the likes of Dynarec-through-DeFekt in a movement that his Lepton collective have held down through associations with the likes of Alienta, Dez Williams and Jensen Interceptor all the more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a high tempo attitude, solid electro framework and tenacious bounce to his live set up , Ngoni adroitly takes in a stripped-back yet pumping and melodic approach to his craft, with a minimalesque, synth-rich and drum machine individuality. And with his groundwork done, Ngoni presents himself as a fresh and inspiring artist for a new generation, keeping the future, and hope for it, alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the film Bisagras (2024) by Luis Arn\u00edas<\/strong>
Tracing his Afro-Caribbean ancestry, Luis Arn\u00edas embarks on a journey from the House of Slaves in Gor\u00e9e Island, Senegal, to the port of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, while imagining the perilous journey his enslaved ancestors took to the Americas. Shot in black and white on 16mm film,\u00a0Bisagras<\/strong>\u00a0weaves together a rich tapestry of evocative imagery and rhythmic soundscapes, connecting the director to his heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Loradeniz<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Loradeniz represents a multidisciplinary music and art project conceived by Deniz Omeroglu. A DJ, pianist, producer, composer, and former music director, she channels a wide-ranging musical background into immersive DJ sets and genre-blurring productions. Rooted in classical training and experimental sound design, her work seamlessly drifts between deep. house, bass, psychedelic, techno, trance, hypnotic, ambient, acid. Beyond the club, Deniz has composed music for short films, served as music director for theater and contemporary dance projects, and crafted soundscapes for 3D installations and exhibitions. Her work extends deeply into the art world, reflecting a versatile approach to composition and storytelling. Whether performing live or behind the decks, she builds rich, emotive narratives that move both body and mind, marked by processed vocals, deeply layered melodies, jarring percussions, and hypnotic rhythms. Past performances include standout sets at Sonar, Dekmantel, De School, Concertgebouw, and Bimhuis. Recent releases have found homes on labels like MusicFrom Memory, Nous\u2019klaer Audio, and Artificial Dance, each revealing a different facet of her sonic identity, from filmic ambient journeys to more club-oriented forms. Loradeniz\u2019s sound is ever-evolving: intimate yet expansive. Refined yet raw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
