Profile 

Valerie Steinberg Productions is a full-service narrative film and TV production company based in Los Angeles and New York and working globally. The company takes on projects with fierce visions and strong talent and leverages a global network of accomplished creatives to build films from idea to screen. Experience includes script development, casting, talent discovery/scouting, budgeting, physical production, post-production, acquisitions consultation, film festivals, industry networks, legal, grant writing, intellectual property, distribution, and private equity financing. Credits include Hair Wolf (Sundance winner), Blocks (Sundance), Fry Day (SXSW, Tribeca winner), Coffee Shop Names (Palm Springs, Aspen), and Karmalink (upcoming Cambodian “Buddhist sci-fi” feature). 

Valerie grew up in Los Angeles and studied philosophy and Chinese at Yale University. She has been selected for Venice Biennale College Cinema (2020), IFP Week (2020), Far East in Progress (2020), Film Independent Producing Lab (2019), Tribeca All Access (2019), and Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum (2018). She has produced a dozen short films that have won awards at festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca, Melbourne, and Palm Springs. She is EP of the narrative feature Beast (dir. Riley Keough and Gina Gammell), and Consulting Producer of Ash Mayfair’s Vietnamese feature The Third Wife (TIFF winner). She is lead producer on Karmalink (dir. Jake Wachtel), a Cambodian sci-fi feature being sold by XYZ Films, and she is developing a slate of narrative features and television projects.
