IFFR White Nights programme

13 – 17 July, from 14:00 until 23:00, Museumpark Rotterdam, free admission

International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) will be setting up camp in Rotterdam’s Museumpark from 13 to 17 July 2016. This open-air film event, called IFFR White Nights, hosts a series of short films in small tents during the day, and the evenings will be lit up in a fairytale atmosphere by film screenings in the big, central tent.

IFFR White Nights highlights the potential of the talent now coming from those countries and knocking at Europe’s door. White Nights refers to Europe’s sleepless nights, whether from empathy or suspicion, as refugees reach the continent in search of a safe haven. The films shown at the festival were made in the countries of origin of these refugees: Syria, Iraq, Pakistan, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon and Tunisia. Between films, the programme features panel discussions on various themes, workshops and masterclasses, music from the Arab region and delicious food by Syrian chef Maher al Sabbagh. Admission free!
