IFFR & Kunsthal present MASH-UP! 2016: film, expo and party
It's almost here: on Friday 28 October 2016, Kunsthal Rotterdam and International Film Festival Rotterdam will join forces to present MASH-UP! for the third time. This means a unique advance premiere, a special exhibition, spectacular music and a big party, all in Kunsthal Rotterdam.
NOCTURNAL ANIMALS (TOM FORD, 2016)
The evening kicks off with the advance premiere of Nocturnal Animals by fashion designer and director Tom Ford. Following on from his award-winning debut A Single Man, which screened at IFFR 2010, Ford is back with his long-awaited second film. This explosive thriller about love, violence and vengeance was showered with praise by the international press. A special chance to see this film ahead of the official premiere in Dutch cinemas on December 1.
In Nocturnal Animals, successful gallery owner Susan (Amy Adams) receives a manuscript by post, written by her ex-husband Edward (Jake Gyllenhaal). Edward's story turns out to be a brutal confrontation with Susan's past, and forces her to reconsider the choices she has made.
PETER LINDBERGH: A DIFFERENT VISION OF FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
After the film, as a visitor to MASH-UP! you will get exclusive access 'by night' to the exhibition Peter Lindbergh: A Different Vision on Fashion Photography. The first international traveling exhibition of the work of this legendary fashion photographer was initiated and produced by Kunsthal Rotterdam in collaboration with curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot and Peter Lindbergh. The opening of this special exhibition last September brought supermodels Cindy Crawford, Eva Herzigova, Milla Jovovich and Lara Stone as well as superstar Tina Turner to the red carpet at Kunsthal Rotterdam.

Since the 1980s, Peter Lindbergh’s raw black and white photography has set the tone for the development of fashion photography. He has launched the careers of a new generation of ’supermodels’, including Naomi Campbell and Linda Evangelista. In his work, where natural beauty and authenticity are central, Lindbergh is inspired d by film and dance and time and again he has been able to break through the entrenched codes within the fashion industry.
Afterwards, you can dance until 02:00 am at the MASH-UP! party in the Kunsthalcafé. More information about the party will follow, but it will definitely have something to do with a band and a DJ.
You can buy tickets for the entire evening (film + expo + party), or just for the expo and party.
