Mati Diop Shorts

With the cinema release of Atlantique, directed by the first black female director selected for the main competition in Cannes, French-Senegalese filmmaker Mati Diop, IFFR Unleashed presents three short films that were screened at previous editions of the festival. All of them are a blueprint for Diop’s debut feature film in which she researches her young main characters, at the same time exploring the medium of film. Both Big in Vietnam and Atlantiques won a Tiger Award for Short Films.
