Tiger on the Loose

The tiger is on the loose! Go on an interactive tiger hunt in Rotterdam between 29 January and 14 February, from Waalhaven to De Esch, from Blijdorp to Carnisse. Throughout Rotterdam you will find interactive green screens, designed by Studio VollaersZwart. By scanning a QR code on one of the green screens, a short film fragment comes to life with Rotterdam on your smartphone, featuring just about every tiger in film history. Take a walk through the city along the screens and experience how film art and public space interact.

Tiger on the Loose locations

When viewed from above, all locations together form IFFR’s tiger logo. The green screen objects are around 500 meters to 1000 meters apart, so you can easily visit a few of them during a stroll outside. The complete route is around 42km long (marathon distance, for those who prefer to run). While on tour, use the map below or make use of the IFFR App. Enjoy the route safely at distance, and share your photos and videos along the way with the hashtag #TigerontheLoose.

In collaboration with Studio VollaersZwart, ArtiShock: Mixed Reality Productions, Orb Amsterdam and Cubord Signmakers.

More about Tiger on the Loose

Stay safe!

Tiger on the Loose is an outdoor programme. We still ask our visitors to keep 1.5m distance at all times and visit the green screens with a maximum of 2 persons. If you are passing by and see that there are already visitors at a certain green screen, please wait at a distance or walk along to the next green screen. We advise to wear a face mask at any time when visiting one of the green screens.
