Tamara Mariam Dawit

Tamara Dawit is an Ethiopian‐Canadian filmmaker. She is an alumnus of the Berlinale and Durban Talents, Doha Film Institute, EAVE, and Rotterdam Lab and has been awarded fellowships by Docs in Progress, Logan Nonfiction, and TIFF. Tamara has recently won the Adiaha Award, the Gordon Parks Award and the Doc Institute Vanguard Award.

Gobez Media  – Ethiopia/Canada

Gobez Media is an Ethiopian and Canadian production company that produces innovative television and film content in Eastern Africa. The company’s documentaries include Forgotten Children (2007), Grandma Knows Best (2014), Girls of Latitude (2008), Finding Sally (2020), that have screened at festivals globally, including Hot Docs, Gothenburg, Durban, Film Africa and New African/AFI. Gobez Media has produced documentaries and factual TV programming for CBC/Radio Canada, MTV, NHK, and several private production companies.
