Talks & Masterclasses 2018
IFFR has been at the vanguard of international and world cinema since 1972, embracing brilliant, radical, experimental and beautiful films – and the filmmakers who create them.
Every year, the festival invites these renowned or emerging auteurs to discuss their work within its socio-political, economic or cultural context. But we also invite equally radical and opinionated artists, thinkers and agitators from a broad spectrum of disciplines to join in the debate. People whose words, works and actions demand engagement; people who are in turn inspired by the films we screen at IFFR.
At IFFR Talks, these people join their filmmaking colleagues to determine where their visions meet, or where they diverge. They come to provoke, to learn, or to reveal; in short, to talk to the international Rotterdam audience. At IFFR, the films continue after the credits have rolled.
