Susana Santos Rodrigues

Zimbabwe-born, Portuguese raised, Susana Santos Rodrigues has been working in the arthouse film industry sector for over 15 years as a film programmer, distributor, sales agent and development consultant.

Currently, the co-director at IndieLisboa International Film Festival, alongside serving as the Latin America programme advisor for International Film Festival Rotterdam, in The Netherlands, and a programmer of the Bildrausch FilmFest Basel, in Switzerland. 

Susana is also a member of the selection committee of the Hubert Bals Fund, international consultant for the Doha Film Institute, and Noka mentor at Tabakalera – International Center for Contemporary culture.

In 2013, Susana co-founded the Latin American based distribution outfit VAIVEM that has released Horse Money, by Pedro Costa, Museum Hours, by Jem Cohen, and A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night, by Ana Lily Amirpour, among others. The company is active in Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Portugal.

Formerly programming delegate for the Ibero-American territories to the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, in the Czech Republic, and for the territory of Latin America to the Cinéma du Réel - International Documentary Film Festival, in France, part of the selection committee of the Rio de Janeiro Film Festival, in Brazil, guest curator at International Film Festival of Kerala, India, pre-selection advisor for Jeonju International Film Festival, in South Korea, as well as festival manager at international sales company Films Boutique.
