Sophie Ahrens
Sophie (she/her) was born in London, but grew up in Hamburg, Germany. In 2016 she founded the production company Schuldenberg Films, which is based in Berlin and Bavaria. Sophie believes in diverse storytelling, strong artistic voices and emerging talent. The feature film “Piaffe” by Ann Oren premiered in the concorso internazionale in Locarno 2022.

Schuldenberg Films is an independent film production company based in Berlin and Bad Endorf. SBF focuses on the production of genre-bending fictional and non-fictional film works with a critical and political approach, spanning from feature films and documentaries to experimental art works. SBF is run by producers Sophie Ahrens, Fabian Altenried and Kristof Gerega.
