Rua Osman
Rua Osman is a Sudanese film producer and documentary filmmaker. Since her childhood she has been driven by the magic of life. She first became a biological scientist and is now analysing film through a different lens. With a natural science background, she is able to deconstruct and analyse large schemes and put every single bit back together. In combining the lenses of art and science, Rua is managing to capture the intricacies of lived experiences within larger frameworks in very particular ways. Her desire to apply her unique skill set to filmmaking is rooted in her drive to produce worlds where reality and imagination gather to create something that is truly meaningful.
Helmour Productions - Sudan
Helomur Productions is a newly established production company in Sudan. Helomur was born out of the necessity of multiple stories to be told from multifaceted points of view. We believe that visual storytelling has its unique power and attempt to explore and weave individuals, events, environments, culture, diversity and much more in different forms through captivating images. Helomur's inherent value is to tell novel stories from novel perspectives. Beyond that, telling them in a way of reclaiming narratives that have been silenced and hijacked in different ways. Our motive is to continue the conversation about the diversity of individuals, culture and history among the different regions. The company focuses on documentary, fiction and shorts.
