Pro Hub in 2021
Now as a dedicated online platform, in February 2021 the Pro Hub continued to support filmmakers in having a meaningful experience during the IFFR Pro Days. Filmmakers with a film in the official selection were already engaged ahead of the festival through a tailor-made trajectory consisting of several warm-up sessions and personal contacts with the IFFR team and mentors.
During the festival the Pro Hub supports filmmakers, emerging and also more seasoned film professionals, in developing new connections, finding allies in the film community, encouraging an open exchange of ideas and knowledge.
Pro Days Programme
During the Pro Days (February 1 to 5) there will be a select daily programme of expert panels with specially invited speakers covering a wide-range of current topics. These will encompass the breadth of experience to be found at IFFR and will be curated by the IFFR Pro team working across its programmes (CineMart, Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam Lab and Reality Check). Topics will cater towards the interests of emerging filmmakers, curators and programmers and experienced professionals. Most panels will be followed by an optional roundtable session during which direct questions and discussion is encouraged in a closed environment.
For those not interested in the roundtable discussion, there will be networking opportunities.
Mentors
Directors and producers will have the opportunity to book personal, one-to-one meetings with one of the Pro Hub mentors. These insiders are open to discussing the concerns of filmmakers, answering questions in the fields of production, co-production, financing, marketing, sales, distribution and festival strategies, providing important guidance and inspiration.
Workshops
Also confirmed as part of this online edition, will be the training workshop on how to communicate effectively and how to pitch a project. Here you can learn how to synthesize ideas, summarize complex projects and present these in an engaging and effective way.
For those having participated in the training sessions, it will be possible to present their completed films, projects in development or ideas to key professionals from funds, markets, production, sales, and festivals during a constructive feedback session within a protected and supportive environment.
Badge
The programme of personal mentor meetings, panels and roundtables, prep-sessions, and pitches are all complimentary for IFFR filmmakers and open to all delegates with an Industry badge.
Limited access
For the one-to-one meetings, the roundtables and prep-sessions it is necessary to a place and please note that capacity is limited.
Announcement
The programme of talks, panels and roundtables, as well as the many international moderators and speakers that will take part in the 2021 programme, will be announced by mid-January.
Team
Filmmakers and professional delegates will be taken care of by the Guest Relations and Pro Hub teams and the online programme for the 2021 edition reflects a joint effort.
The Pro Hub team will be represented by Nikolas Montaldi, the mentors Hayet Benkara, Louis Balsan, Marjorie Bendeck, Marina Kozul, Kathleen McInnis, Pierre Menahem and further ones to be announced.
The Pitching Session workshop and feedback session will be led by experienced coach Bonnie Williams, together with the Pro Hub mentor Marjorie Bendeck.
