Whit Stillman

Whit STILLMAN (1952, USA) is a writer, producer and director who has fulfilled those functions for all of his features. He started his career as a journalist for magazines and newspapers, including Village Voice, The Guardian and Vogue, before taking his first steps to becoming a filmmaker. His first feature, Metropolitan (1990), was welcomed with an Oscar nomination, after which he produced his second movie, Barcelona, in 1994 and his third, The Last Days of Disco in 1998, which he also wrote a novel about. After thirteen years of silence he made the film Damsels in Distress (2011). Love & Friendship (2016) is his fifth feature film.
