Umesh Vinayak Kulkarni

An alumni of Pune’s Film and Television Institute, director Umesh Vinayak KULKARNI (1976, India) is known for his work prior to this debut feature, consisting of well-received documentaries and shorts, including his latest, The Grinding Machine (2005), which has travelled widely and won many national and international awards. The Wild Bull (2008), his debut film, was warmly received at various film festivals. The Well was his second feature film in the Marathi language. In 2010 the IFFR screened The Well (2009) in the section Bright Future, and the short film The Spell (2008) in the section Tiger Awards Competition for Short Films.
