Travis Wilkerson

Travis WILKERSON (1969, Denver) is an independent film director, screenwriter, producer and performance artist. He studied language and literature before making films. He is influenced by the Third Cinema movement and known for combining maximalist aesthetics and radical politics in his films. Machine Gun or Typewriter? (2015), world premiere in Locarno, was awarded Best International Feature at DokuFest and screened worldwide. Next to directing, Wilkerson is the the founding editor of Now: A Journal of Urgent Praxis. He has taught filmmaking at the University of Colorado, CalArts, Pomona College and Vassar College.
