Thom Andersen

After a short political career Thom ANDERSEN (1943, USA) studied film at UCLA. He has been teaching Directing and Film Theory at UCLA since 1987. Together with Noël Burch he wrote Les Communistes de Hollywood: autre chose que des martyrs. At the Vancouver International Film Festival, Los Angeles Plays Itself (2003) was awarded the prize for Best Documentary. In 2015, Sight & Sound picked the film as one of the 50 best documentaries of all time.
