Steve James

American Steve JAMES is known as a director/producer, principally for his documentary Hoop Dreams, which in 1994 won all the big critics’ prizes as well as the Directors’ Guild of America Award and the Peabody and Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. Other internationally lauded documentaries by James are Stevie (2002), At the Death House Door (2008) and The Interrupters (2011). 2015 marks his first visit to IFFR with Life Itself.
