Rosa von Praunheim
Rosa VON PRAUNHEIM (1942, Latvia) was born as Holger Mischwitzky. He grew up in East Berlin and attended art courses in Offenbach and Berlin. He chose Rosa as his artist name to remind people of the pink triangle that homosexuals had to wear in concentration camps during the Second World War. Since 1967, he has provoked and informed the German gay scene with his numerous films. He is also a writer and a painter.
