Roberta TORRE (1962, Italy) studied philosophy and film. In 1990, she moved to Palermo, a city that fascinated her so much that she made a video portrait of its inhabitants. The city also plays a significant role in her features. For her debut feature film Tano da morire (1997), she won the Nastro d'argento for Best New Directo. The film also entered the 54th Venice International Film Festival, winning the FEDIC Award, the Kodak Award and the Luigi De Laurentiis Award for Best Directorial Debut Film.
