Risto Jarva
Risto JARVA (1934-1977) was a Finnish filmmaker. He died in a car accident on his way back from a screening of his last film The Year of the Hare. Jarva made several feature films and short documentaries, mostly about social problems, such as the widespread use of cars, the position of women and pollution. Besides being a filmmaker, he also worked as a film lecturer at the Helsinki Applied Arts and Industry College.
