René Viénet
René VIÉNET (1944, France) is a famous sinologist, situationist, writer, filmmaker and Maoist critic. Using the situationist technique of 'détournement' – turning the language and signs of capitalism and mass media against itself – his breakout film and cult classic, La dialectique peut-elle casser des briques? (1973), overdubs a kung-fu film by Tú Guāngqǐ with dialogue about class conflict and revolutionary agitation.
